Find care. Run your agency.
Cover every shift.
HomeCareAtlas is a directory and operating platform built for non-medical home care. Families use it to find agencies. Agencies use it to run their business.
Why we built this
There are over 30,000 licensed home care agencies in the United States. Most of them have no online presence beyond a row in a state licensing database. When a family needs help — after a hospital discharge, a fall, or just because mom needs more support at home — they have almost no way to find, compare, or contact these agencies.
On the agency side, most operators are still running on spreadsheets, paper timesheets, and group texts. They spend money on marketing but have no online profile. They struggle to fill last-minute shifts. They track caretaker certifications in binders.
We started HomeCareAtlas because we believe home care deserves better infrastructure. Not another generic healthcare directory. Not another enterprise software suite. A platform that actually understands how home care agencies work and what families need when they are looking for help.
What we do
For families
Search 15,000+ licensed home care agencies across the US. Every listing includes licensing status, services offered, location, and — for Medicare-certified agencies — quality ratings from CMS. Filter by state, city, county, or service type.
- Search by location, service, or agency name
- Verified licensing data from state boards and CMS
- Contact agencies directly through the platform
For agencies
Claim your listing for free. Update your profile, add services, upload photos, and start receiving inquiries from families in your area. Then use our tools to actually run your agency — scheduling, caretaker compliance, client management, and shift coverage.
- Free directory listing with full profile control
- Scheduling, compliance tracking, and client management
- Shift Backup: fill shifts through partner agencies when you are short-staffed
Shift Backup
Every home care agency has the same problem: a caretaker calls out, and a client has no one coming. Shift Backup is our answer. It connects agencies in the same area so they can cover each other's shifts.
When you are short-staffed, post the shift to Shift Backup. Partner agencies in your county receive an SMS alert and can nominate one of their qualified caretakers. You review, accept, and the shift gets filled — often within hours. The caretaker works under the filling agency's employment and insurance. You pay the agreed rate plus a small platform fee.
No more begging on Facebook groups. No more leaving clients without care. Just agencies backing each other up.
Where our data comes from
We build agency profiles from publicly available data — state licensing boards like the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
This means every agency in our directory has a real license, a real address, and a real phone number pulled from official records. For Medicare-certified agencies, we also display quality metrics — patient care star ratings, outcome measures, and hospital readmission rates — sourced directly from CMS.
When an agency claims their profile, they can update their listing with additional details: services, photos, hours, insurance accepted, and more. Claimed profiles rank higher in our directory because they provide more useful information for families.
Free for agencies. Always.
Claiming your listing, updating your profile, and receiving inquiries from families costs nothing. We believe every licensed home care agency deserves to be found online. Operational tools like scheduling and Shift Backup are available as you grow.
